Jonathan joined SERI as a candidate attorney in July 2012. He has a BA LLB (with distinction) from the University of the Witswatersrand, graduating in 2011. During his studies, he worked as an intern at the South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) and at the Association for Water and Rural Development (AWARD).
Jonathan is particularly interested in Constitutional Law, Human Rights Law, and Administrative Law. For him, law possesses a strong means through which social justice is exacted, and this is why he chose to be an attorney. He is passionate about seeing a substantive change in the lives of people living in desperate socio-economic conditions in South Africa.
Jonathan was admitted as an attorney in January 2015 and is currently pursuing an LLM at the Unviersity of Cape Town (UCT).
